Government Psychiatric Diseases Hospital.

Overview

The Government Psychiatric Diseases Hospital Srinagar Kashmir is the only Hospital for Mental health in the whole of Kashmir. It is the main referral institution for all patients suffering from any Psychiatric Disease or Condition from all over the state. It provided to and fro referral services with the other Associated Hospitals of Government Medical College Srinagar.

The Hospital also provides teaching programme to Post Graduate and Under graduate students of Government Medical College Srinagar and also provides a rotatory training programme to the Medical Interns affiliated with GMC Srinagar of varying durations.

The Government Psychiatric Diseases Hospital is situated around 2 kms away from Jawahar Lal Nehru Hospital Rainawari Srinagar, around 4 Kms away from the Kashmir University and 5 Kms from Lal Chowk the Heart of Srinagar City. It is located on the foot of the Famous Hari Parbath in a Quiet scenic spot away from the hustle bustle of daily life.

The Government Psychiatric Diseases Hospital is a 150 bed hospital providing free indoor care to all patients requiring the same. It also doubles as a Home for the Abandoned and as a Old age care facility.
