All Admissions in Government Medical College Srinagar are strictly via Entrance tests conducted Annually by Board of Professional Entrance Examinations Jammu & Kashmir.


Admissions in M.B.B.S Course Government Medical College Srinagar.


The M.B.B.S course is of four and a half year's and is followed by one year of Compulsory Rotating Residential Internship. The course is taken in three stages, following a short foundation course which provides basic principles of Communication, Ethics and Problem Based Learning. The first stage is for 12 months and covers the basic sciences of Anatomy, Physiology and Biochemistry. The next stage is for 18 months and includes Pharmacology, Pathology, Microbiology and Forensic Medicine.
The last stage is for 24 months and covers Ophthalmology, Otorhinolaryngology, Community Medicine, General Medicine, Pediatrics, Surgery, Orthopedic Surgery and Obstetrics & Gynecology..

Selection to Government Medical College Srinagar is based on performance in an entrance examination which is held in March-April for Higher Specialty courses, and in June for MBBS course, of every year. The examination consists of varieties of multiple choice questions, distributed in all disciplines of Medicine for Post graduates and Science (Physics, Chemistry and Biology) for Under-graduates .

 


Application form and information brochure can be obtained for a fee of Rs.750 from Various branches of Jammu and Kashmir Bank Ltd, from May 18 to June 4, 2005, against a bank Draft for Rs.750 favoring FINANCIAL ADVISOR & CHIEF ACCOUNTS OFFICER (F.A./C.A.O), BOARD of PROFESSIONAL ENTRANCE EXAMINATIONS J&K plus bank charges of Rs.20.


Submission of Application forms.

Application forms complete in all respects will be received ay the Offices of the Board of Professional Entrance Examination, 9-A Polo View, Srinagar or Bahu Plaza South Block Jammu from May 21, 2005 to June 7, 2005. Applications can also be sent by REGISTERED POST / SPEED POST to the board office at Srinagar or Jammu.


Eligibility Criteria

The Candidate should

  • Have passes higher secondary part II (10+2) from any recognized statutory Board / University with English, Physics, Chemistry and Biology as their elective subjects and must not have secured less than 50% marks in aggregate.

  • Candidates must be of 17 years of age on or before 31.12.2005 and of 17 years on or before 01-10-2005.

  • No UNDER PROCESS CERTIFICATES will be entertained.
